ACTIONS CLOSED FROM PREVIOUS MINUTES

  1. A budget was agreed for the Committee end of year function at $70.00 per head to thanks past committee members and welcome the new committee. Discussions on a new pathway for MRAWA were devised and many ideas tabled. Nine past and present committee members and invited guests attended.The dinner came in under budget at approximately $60.00 per head, (less than the 2020 EOY function)
  2. 2021 AGM was held and run – a new MRAWA Committee was formed.
  3. The MRAWA Committee has pledged to serve the MRAWA membership / represent motorcycling and motorcyclists proactively as per the November 2021 minute proposals.

Steven Wheadon has filled the general committee position of Safety officer 2, Simon Waters filled the general committee position of Ride Coordinator 2, Chris Farmer filled the general committee position of Event Manager These three members have two positions, noting only one Office Bearer Role may be heldThe MRAWA committee is seeking to fill remaining open positions of social media officer and webmaster, and also general committee positions where two roles are filled by a single committee member.MRAWA members are invited to attend a general meeting and express interest in a committee position where a nomination may be extended, and the member accepted into the committee via the casual vacancy route.President’s Statement:Steve Wheadon again welcomed and thanked the new committee members and is excited for the MRAWA new chapter and hosting the 2022 Numbat rally.Vice President’s Statement:No report, however the committee thanks Rob for stepping up to Vice President to assist the President and other committee members pursuing MRAWA objectives.Secretary’s Statement:No report, however the committee thanks Cathy for stepping up to Secretary. The description responsibilities are understood and the MRAWA extends Cathy the time necessary to ease into the Secretary role and provide every opportunity to Cathy in convening all meetings in an orderly manner.

Safety Officer’s Statement:Safety officer is working on rider training strategies with motorcycling groups able to offer training at controlled facilities with the aim to improve rider spatial awareness and skill. Motorcycle maintenance sessions are also in the planning stage. Once consolidated, a proposal and budget will be compiled and presented to the committee and members with a possibility grant funding application prepared to subsidise associated costs.Membership Officer’s StatementMembership officer is working to establish the way memberships will be handled either an automated system or one involving manual processing (or part thereof). The committee thanks Pene for nominating and securing the membership officer role. Every effort will be provided by the committee to Pene to assist with setting up MRAWA membership processing.Members joined or renewed: List of members joined or renewed issued to Membership Officer post GMNew members in attendance: No new members in attendance at the January 2022 General MeetingEvent Manager’s Statement:No report, thanks Chris for taking this on to assist the MRAWA committee with upcoming event planning, budgeting and event execution.Ride Coordinator Statement:A ride has been organised and posted to social media. The ride is to Toodyay for lunch and will be held on Sunday 6th February, leaving Ginger’s Roadhouse on Great Northern Highway at 8.30amA ride calendar will be prepared to assist with ride planning. All rides shall have a designated ride leader and tail end Charlie. A “ride rules” charter to be prepared to convey to all attendees at MRAWA rides before the rise leaves the start point.General Committee Member’s Statement:No reportMerchandise Officer’s Statement:No report, thanks Julian for taking this on. A stock list to be prepared. New shirts for the committee and members have been ordered for the upcoming Numbat rally. Seek merchandise and costs for Numbat rally to include bandanas, beanies and MRAWA badges.The current stock held is to be picked up from the previous Merchandise Officer and stored appropriately to ensure as new condition is maintained in readiness for sale. Stock is currently stored indoors within sealed plastic tubs.Webmaster’s Statement:Position not filled. Volunteers keenly sought for this roleSocial Media Officer’s Statement:Position not filled. Volunteers keenly sought for this role. Currently the administrators are managing social media. Members and interested users previously blocked have been reinstated, (where agreed) and new posting rules have been introduced preventing “tagging” people. Posts can be uploaded without tagging others.UPCOMING EVENTS:MRAWA Numbat Rally: Voted by the Committee to go ahead in June 2022York Motorcycle Festival: MRAWA will be in attendance. A dedicated stand may not happen in 2022MRAWA Monthly Rides: First ride posted online social media for February 6th with more to comeGENERAL BUSINESS:1. MRAWA FOCUS AND OBJECTIVES- Have been discussed amongst the Committee at the December Committee meeting- Objective list to be prepared and presented to the committee and members before March 31st 2022- RESPONSIBILITY: President, Vice President, Safety Officer and/or delegated committee- STATUS OPEN2. SEA CONTAINER AND PO BOX KEYS- President has a Sea Container key and Secretary has a PO box key- Treasurer has a set of keys for the PO box and Sea Container- Permission must be sought to attend Bruce’s property in Maida Vale to access the sea container.- Contact details for Bruce can be provided by the MRAWA President or Treasurer- STATUS CLOSED3. MRAWA ONLINE SYNC FOLDER- Sync folder available for all MRAWA Committee members to use.- Treasurer has tidied the files and prepared folders for all Committee members- Log in details provided in the December Committee meeting minutes or contact Treasurer- STATUS CLOSED4. MRAWA WEBSITE AND WEBMAIL HOSTING- Smarter Websites have been paid for a further 3 months – Expires March 31st 2022- The Committee has voted to move to the current website to alternative hosting arrangements- Current host representative to provide administrator access and links to designated committee members to move website and webmail to alternative hosting arrangements- This movement of website is scheduled before end of February in “offline beta format” to review and assess functionality, and determine any plug ins required- The new website and webmail to be online and functioning before March 31st 2022- Options for website hosting were reviewed at the meeting. Thank you to the member who took the time to present options to the MRAWA committee- RESPONSIBILITY: President, Vice President, Safety Officer and/or delegated committee- STATUS OPEN5. MRAWA COMMITTEE, MEMBER SHIRTS AND MERCHANDISE- President has received sizes for designated shirts and purchased a few sizes for members- Shirts unsold to go into merchandise and used for new Committee or members- Existing merchandise to be picked up and stored at alternative location to prevent deterioration- Stock list to be prepared detailing minimum stock held and stock level where ordering is required, and what stock needs to be sourced, e.g. bandanas, beanies, badges, etc by March 31st 2022- RESPONSIBILITY: President, Merchandise Officer, Treasurer- STATUS OPEN6. MEMBERSHIP PROCESSING- Membership officer to determine the preferred way memberships are to be processed- Website currently has the plug ins required to automate membership payments and update member list- Plug in can go with the new website – Note yearly subscription for required plug in is now due- Required plug in may be purchased (if required) for new website hosting arrangements- Updated memberships, payments and anything else requested by the Membership Officer to be provided by the Treasurer to ensure an updated list and member payment status- RESPONSIBILITY: Membership Officer, Treasurer- STATUS OPEN7. RIDER TRAINING AND MOTORCYCLE MAINTENANCE INITIATIVES- Safety officer to liaise with Motorcycling groups with facilities to train riders- A proposal to be prepared indicating training strategies, maintenance workshops and budgets- There’s a possibility grants can be sourced to assist funding these proposals- Grant applications may be prepared for known budgets- Funding is critical to consolidate dates, venues- RESPONSIBILITY: President, Safety Officer and/or delegated committee- STATUS OPEN8. NUMBAT RALLY 2022- MRAWA Committee has voted to accept the go ahead of the 2022 MRAWA Numbat Rally- Rally is planed to be held in June 2022 at a Dowerin location- MRAWA holds appropriate insurance for rallies, however a notice to the insurer is required- A detailed proposal to be prepared for MRAWA Committee review- Proposal to include dates, venue, online and / or gate costs, giveaways, food / drink, ablutions,- Budget for venue infrastructure hire, catering, badges, etc, and numbers required to recover costs- A detailed proposal is required for Committee consideration before April 30th 2022- Explore the option of sharing the Numbat Rally with other Motorcycling Groups to share costs- RESPONSIBILITY: President, Vice President, Event Manager, Treasurer and/or delegated committee- STATUS OPEN9. YORK MOTORCYCLE FESTIVAL 2022- MRAWA Committee is undecided on a MRAWA stand venue for April 10th 2022- MRAWA banners are available to identify stand at YMF- It’s hoped to at least attend in numbers as MRAWA Committee representatives and seek / record rider comments, thoughts, ideas on what they would expect from the MRA- The MRAWA may hand out objective strategy flyers, stickers at the YMF- If a stand was possible, a marquee would require purchase and YMF location costs paid- Explore options for stand or just attend in numbers in Committee shirts and gather feedback from riders- Costs associated with YMF stand and flyer preparation and sticker giveaways to be prepared- Costings and call for volunteers to be presented to the Committee for review before March 31st 2022- RESPONSIBILITY: President, Vice President, Event Manager, and/or delegated committee- STATUS OPEN10. MRAWA RIDES 2022- MRAWA Ride calendar and ride rules to be prepared. Ride rules draft to be reviewed by Committee- Volunteers to nominate for ride leader and tail end Charlie based on Calendar dates- Calendar and ride rules to be available and presented before March 31st 2022- RESPONSIBILITY: Ride Coordinators and/or delegated committee- STATUS OPEN11. MRAWA MAGAZINE- MRAWA has produced a magazine each quarter called “Razor’s Edge”- Call to Committee and members to propose new magazine title- Committee to call for volunteers (or create a position) for the editor role- Previously newsletter was complied and edited by the President- Committee to consider viability of quarterly newsletter, gauge member interest via social media- Possibility of funding through advertising local motorcycle services in Perth- RESPONSIBILITY: President, Vice President and/or delegated committee- STATUS OPEN12. MRAWA AFFILIATIONS- MRAWA will seek affiliations with recognised motorcycling groups- The aim is to increase numbers associated with the MRAWA to provide a united motorcycling front- No costs will be associated with affiliations and there is no pressure to become MRAWA members- Motorcycle clubs, lobby groups training providers and facility users are possible affiliations- RESPONSIBILITY: President, Vice President and/or delegated committee- STATUS OPENNext Meeting:
